Advisory Apps is now an official Malaysia Digital (MD) status company, awarded by MDEC on 6 July 2026 — recognising our role in Malaysia's digital economy and unlocking new incentives for the clients we build for.

Advisory Apps Awarded Malaysia Digital (MD) Status by MDEC

On 6 July 2026, Advisory Apps Sdn Bhd was officially awarded Malaysia Digital (MD) status by the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). This national recognition places Advisory Apps among the companies formally recognised to carry out Malaysia Digital activities — and it strengthens the government-backed credibility we bring to every software project we deliver from Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Digital (MD) status is the Malaysian government’s status for companies that drive the country’s digital economy. Being granted MD status is both a milestone for our team and a direct benefit to the businesses we build for, from SMEs to enterprises and government agencies.

What Malaysia Digital (MD) Status Means

Malaysia Digital is Malaysia’s national strategic initiative to grow the digital economy, administered by MDEC. It replaced the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC Malaysia) programme when the government rebranded the initiative in July 2022, shifting from a location-based model to one where approved companies can operate, grow, and invest anywhere in Malaysia.

Companies granted MD status gain access to a package of incentives and privileges, subject to meeting the relevant conditions. According to MDEC, these include:

  • Tax incentives — an outcome-based scheme (launched May 2024) offering reduced tax rates or investment tax allowances on qualifying activities
  • Grant facilitation — access to programmes such as the Malaysia Digital Acceleration Grant (MDAG), which co-funds digital adoption
  • Talent flexibility — streamlined Employment Pass processing for knowledge workers
  • Import duty and sales tax exemptions on qualifying multimedia and ICT equipment
  • One-stop facilitation by MDEC, plus business-matching and access to local and international digital ecosystems

As of April 2025, more than 6,000 companies had been awarded MD status. Advisory Apps is proud to join that community as a homegrown Malaysian software company.

What This Means for Our Clients

For years, we have helped clients navigate Malaysia’s digital grant landscape — from the SME Digitalisation Grant to MDEC programmes — as an MOF-approved software company. Now, holding MD status ourselves adds a further layer of assurance for the businesses that trust us with their digital transformation initiatives.

In practical terms, MD status signals that Advisory Apps has been independently assessed and recognised under a national framework. It reinforces our position as a technology partner equipped to scope, build, and deliver the kind of high-value digital solutions the initiative is designed to encourage — the same standards behind flagship platforms like MedicalMet, our clinic management system serving 300+ clinics, and the enterprise builds we have shipped for clients such as Perodua.

Building on a Track Record of Recognition

MD status is the latest in a series of independent endorsements Advisory Apps has earned. Since our founding in 2012, we have delivered 300+ projects and been recognised through the SME100 Fast-Moving Companies award, MOF certification, and multiple Top Clutch rankings across AI, Flutter, financial services, and government software development.

Each recognition reflects the same commitment: building software that performs in production and delivers measurable outcomes for Malaysian and regional businesses. MD status affirms that commitment at a national level — and reminds us that the standard only rises from here.

What’s Next

Achieving Malaysia Digital status is a starting point, not a finish line. We will continue helping Malaysian businesses digitalise — structuring projects that qualify for available incentives, modernising legacy systems, and building the custom platforms that move the needle on efficiency and growth.
